Mission

What is The Heart Gallery you might be asking? The Heart Gallery of Central Texas is an art exhibit and community education/outreach initiative featuring children who are waiting for adoption. Every day in Central Texas there are 500 children waiting for their forever family. Here, in our community, more than 55 photographers are donating their time and talents to this project. By matching these professional photographers with waiting children, we create a gallery of amazing photographs that that can be displayed for the purpose of finding families for these kids.

These photographs give you insight into the children and their personalities. Hopefully, they will spark an emotional attachment and compel potential adoptive families (single, two parent, etc.) to inquire about adoption from the foster care system.

These children live in anticipation of what the future may or may not hold for them: a family. The Heart Gallery of Central Texas humanizes these children, and lets you look into their souls. And, it takes a community to make things happen for these kids!

The photos of The Heart Gallery of Central Texas will travel and be exhibited throughout Central Texas. Our goal is to keep it moving like it is a living, breathing project. The Heart Gallery will travel from Austin to San Antonio, Waco, Bryan, Killeen, Temple and back to Austin over the next year.

As we move forward with the making of The Heart Gallery of Central Texas, we are raising funds from individuals, small businesses and corporations to support it. These funds will help underwrite the creation of this gallery, from printing and framing photos to recruiting adoptive families.
